SMART MOUT HGUARD APP:
The Smart Mouth Guard mobile app provides the patient (the splint user) and his dentist with powerful tracking and analytical tools that may help to leverage bruxism medical treatment. Importantly, the application is able to register unconscious teeth grinding or clenching assaults in the night, create overnight reports and send them directly to the patient’s dentist automatically or in a manual mode. In such a way, the dentist gets a comprehensive picture of the patient’s disease state, allowing to highlight the particular origins and determinants of teeth grinding for
each particular patient, which may
be relatively difficult to do within
regular bruxism treatment
due to multiple reasons
that may cause teeth
grinding.

HOW IT WORKS
The Smart Mouth Guard splint is equipped with transducers. The transducers allow detection and registry of measurable data on patient’s jaw muscle activity, as well as clenching or grinding of teeth. The transducers are able to detect such parameters as timing, intensity, frequency, and allocation of pressure between the teeth in the jaw.
Once the signals of jaw muscle activity are registered, the splint sends the collected information directly to the mobile application installed on the user’s smartphone. The application notifies the user about the registered muscle activity, processes the data collected by the splint, transforms it into a user-friendly format and allows to track the course of the disease.
The Smart Mouth Guard is a smart teeth splint that is equipped with sensors that may register the parameters (time, intensity, frequency, etc.) of teeth grinding episodes. The information is afterwards transferred to the smartphone, where the Smart MouthGuard application processes the collected data. The Smart Mouth Guard solution may be used for diagnostic or treatment purposes providing patients and healthcare specialists with significantly more accurate information on bruxism and simultaneously protecting the user from the consequences of teeth clenching.
